Renamed or Extinct Counties
Dorwey, formed 17 April 1873, from Dallas, Bradley, Jefferson and Lincoln counties. Renamed Cleveland 1885
Sarber, formed 22 March 1871 from Franklin, Johnson, Pope, Scott and Yell counties. Logan 15 December 1875
Lovely, formed 13 October 1827 from the Indian territory. 1828, most of the territory ceded to the Indians. What's left was included in Washington County.
Miller County formed 1 April 1820 from Hempstead County. It included much of the present-day Texas. In 1838 it was divided into two counties, Red River and Fannin Counties, both are in Texas. New Miller County was formed 22 Dec 1874 from Lafayette County.
Clayton County formed 25 March 1873, renamed Clay County 6 Dec 1875
Marion County formed 3 November 1835 from Izard and Searcy counties. Renamed Searcy 29 Sep 1836.
